Retention Manager

As a Licensed Retention Manager for our health insurance division, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and expanding our customer base. Your primary responsibility will be to retain existing policyholders by providing exceptional service, managing customer inquiries, and ensuring policy renewals. This position requires a valid insurance license and a deep understanding of health insurance policies, regulations, and customer relationship management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact policyholders to discuss renewal options and address any questions or concerns.
  • Develop and implement effective retention strategies to reduce churn and increase policy renewals.
  • Monitor the policy renewal process, ensuring that customers are well-informed and have a seamless experience.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for policyholders, maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Educate policyholders on their benefits, coverage options, and any changes in their policies.
  • Stay updated on health insurance regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring all interactions and processes adhere to industry standards.
  • Ensure that policyholders are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities under their health insurance plans.
  • Analyze customer data, usage patterns, and feedback to identify opportunities for policy improvements and cross-selling.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, renewals, and feedback.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to maximize policyholder benefits while increasing revenue.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to explore additional coverage options and services for policyholders.
  • Work closely with other departments, including sales, underwriting, and claims, to address policyholder needs and concerns effectively.
  • Share insights and collaborate with colleagues to improve customer service and retention strategies.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid state-issued insurance license for health insurance.
  • Proven experience in customer service, client retention, or a similar role within the health insurance industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of health insurance policies, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to address customer concerns effectively.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Goal-oriented, with a track record of meeting or exceeding retention targets.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to providing the best possible service to policyholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not mandatory.
